Re: Your advertisement in The Guardian reference LB/98-CEM

15 August 2001

Dear Sir or Madam,

In response to your advertisement in The Guardian for an International Currency Exchange Manager, I am submitting my application for your consideration.

I am confident that I can fulfil your requirements in foreign exchange contracts, international payment and letters of credit, as I am currently employed in the foreign exchange department at First German Bank in Berlin. After earning my degree in finance from the University of Berlin — where I graduated in the top third of my class — I participated in an exchange programme at the London School of Economics. I have near-native proficiency in written and spoken English, as well as fluent French. I also have a working knowledge of Spanish and Italian.

My experience in banking operations is supplemented by excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail. I work well alone as well as within a team and enjoy interacting with customers.

Should you be interested in contacting me for an interview, I would be happy to discuss any further details with you at that time.

Yours sincerely,

Sebastian Hinkel

Encl.
